Open in 1961, Atholton Elementary is one of the county’s oldest schools, serving Howard County students well before Columbia existed. It has been renovated multiple times since then, and now serves about 500 students. The outparcel neighborhood of Allview and the northern part of Kings Contrivance feed to Atholton Elementary School. AES is a Certified Maryland Green School.
